Hello! I'm Jen. 57 now. And I'm a woman in transition in many ways. My online jewelry era has come to a rather abrupt close due to so many copycats and changing algorithms. I've been creating jewelry here on Etsy for almost 18 years. I was the very first "Anna Wintour necklace/ modern style collet necklace" creator back in 2010. I sold thousands of handmade pieces to every corner of the earth! I even created a line of jewelry made by Creative Co-op during my more productive years. The whole line was based on the work I did here. That was pretty darn magical.
It's time for me to shift gears and focus on the "old school technology" I've always adored: vintage stationery, beautiful pens, postcards, envelopes and even vintage office supplies. I'm especially fond of old Swingline staplers! I've been drawn to things like this my whole life; it actually goes waaaaay back to 1978 when I coaxed my friends to actually play school with me in our garage.
I feel that communication has become impersonal and inauthentic. Emails and texts aren't the same as the written word. It's time to take back the written letter. Postcards. Things that take time. That become little parts of us we send to one another that mean something more than something in a screen.
I'm in my old school era. And it feels good to me.
